Long DayJanuary 10, 2015
Medium: acrylic paint Personal work This is my painted version of a fellow classmate's lethargic selfie. I wanted to keep his character as well as the sluggish mood in the artwork. He was tired after a 'long day'. In a dark room with minimal lighting the shadows around his eyes added to the dramatic pose, which I was drawn to. |

RaptureMarch, 2013
Title: Rapture Mixed media: board, plaster, acrylic paint, oil paint Photo credit: PennDel Youth Fine Arts is a Christian talent show that has three levels, which are sectionals, regionals, and nationals. My mixed media made it to nationals. There is a main figure on the left who stares out into the distance. Several people are in the background that are moving up towards the sky. They leave light beams behind traveling up to the Starry Night inspired lights representing the rest of the souls on their journey to heaven. |
Wisdom Teeth |

Personal work Medium: acrylic paint, pastel After I got my wisdom teeth pulled I was inspired to create something. Different items of my life at the time swirl together to birth a world only the mind can dream of. |
In the Garden |
2011 - Competition
First place in 3-D visual art, Fine Arts Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky Mixed media: Oil paint, acrylic paint, plaster, faux fur, wax paper, frame This artwork has my heart and soul in it. From personal experiences I let my emotions guide this piece. The theme of the competition was "The One" sheep that the Shepard left the flock for. On the grassy hill is a homogeneous figure to represent whoever the viewers interprets. The tree was modeled after the Angel Oak Tree in Charleston, South Carolina. Some day I plan to visit the tree in person. The green background is the canopy of leaves from the tree. Colorful butterflies painted by hand on wax paper blanket the whole environment. |
